Welcome to our little series of skincare tips. This first instalment has been written especially to help those suffering with eczema and psoriasis.
The most common problem with Eczema and Psoriasis is the vicious cycle of itching and scratching. This needs to be conquered with a natural SLS-free soap, containing ingredients (natural, of course) which will reduce and soothe the itch, thus eliminating the urge to scratch. There are a number of suitable products on the market, but our Trinity Soap and Shampoo has been specifically formulated for this problem, and, used daily will stop the cycle. Leave on for 10-20 minutes to obtain the best result.
To further reduce damage to the skin in the immediate term, file fingernails daily and keep them scrupulously clean using a nail brush with a product such as Trinity Soap frequently.
Wear breathable cotton clothing to avoid overheating.
Keep the central heating on a low setting. This helps to reduce house dust mites.
Sleep with a window open and if possible air the duvet daily.
Remove old carpets and replace with hard flooring, and aim to keep your home as clean and free from dust as possible.
Know the triggers in order to control them. An allergy test can be very helpful with this.
So there we go, nothing necessarily revolutionary, but hopefully a few useful pointers to help those seeking a natural remedy for eczema and psoriasis to take a step in the right direction. I very much welcome your comments if you’ve found these tips useful, or if you have any questions about our natural eczema creams or about natural skincare in general.
